Museum of American Speed Launches BMX Exhibit with Grand Opening Celebration

Lincoln, NE – The Museum of American Speed proudly announces the opening of its BMX Gallery on Saturday, October 25, 2025, during the museum’s popular Cars and Coffee event. This groundbreaking exhibit celebrates the rich history and cultural impact of Bicycle Motocross (BMX), featuring an extensive collection of iconic bikes, memorabilia, and stories from the sport’s pioneers. The museum will also serve as the permanent home to the Nebraska BMX Hall of Fame.
“This exhibit is a tribute to the innovators and athletes who transformed BMX into a global phenomenon,” said Tim Matthews, Museum Curator. “We’re excited to share this extraordinary collection and inspire future generations of riders.”
The event is presented in partnership with the Nebraska BMX Hall of Fame, Star City BMX, and NOWEAR BMX, with support from the Lancaster County Visitor Improvement Fund, Humanities Nebraska, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, and other generous contributors.
