This car was built in 1968 by Paul Leffler, for car owner, Dr. Ward Dunseth.  It features parallel torsion bars in the front and cross torsion in the back.  It has a USAC mandated 302-cubic inch Chevy engine. 

    Greg Weld was the driver of the Dunseth Chevy to start the 1968 race season. The car featured the #1 in honor of Weld being the defending USAC sprint car champion.  Leffler surprised Weld with this car and Greg did not take kindly to it.

​   He liked the old spring-front car just fine and thought it quite capable of defending the championship.  Never-the-less, Weld tried the new car and thought it was OK on dirt but did not like on asphalt, especially the high banked track of Winchester, Salem and Dayton.  ​

​   Other drivers of this car included Al Smith and Bud Tingelstad.  The car was restored by Mark Randol and John Layne.  This car is part of the Greg Weld Vintage Race Car collection.
