Gurney-Eagle Ford Indy Engine Dan Gurney and Carroll Shelby teamed up in 1962 to form “All American Racers”. The team developed the new Eagle chassis as they aimed to be competitive at Indy. Gurney, who was a long time Grand Prix racer, was the first to introduce the “wickerbill” on the rear wing of a race car for more down force. He also started the tradition of spraying champaign in the winner's circle after he and A.J. Foyt won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1967.
